The Mystic Krewe of Shangri-La. The Name Shangri-La means "eternal youth, peace & tranquility". Shangri-La is the mythical, Eden-like area in the Himalayan mountains renown for its beauty. The Mystic Krewe of Shangri-La is one of the few Carnival Krewes named for a place or a state of mind rather than the traditional use of the names of Greek Gods.
